Thea Garrett, MSPA - CPSP

Speech Pathologist | Owner

As a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia, Thea brings almost 20 years of experience helping adults rebuild communication, confidence, and connection following illness, injury, or neurological change. With extensive experience across inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient services, and home- and community-based care, Thea is passionate about supporting people to achieve meaningful, functional communication outcomes that improve everyday life.

Thea has a strong clinical interest in functional communication recovery, working with adults experiencing a wide range of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and motor speech difficulties. Her therapy approach is highly personalised, evidence-based, and grounded in real-world participation — focusing not just on communication skills in therapy sessions, but on helping clients communicate successfully with family, friends, healthcare providers, workplaces, and within their wider community.

Known for her warm, engaging, and empowering approach, Thea is deeply committed to helping clients regain independence and reconnect with the activities, relationships, and roles that matter most to them. She is particularly passionate about developing practical strategies that build confidence, reduce communication barriers, and create meaningful change in day-to-day life.

Thea believes communication is central to identity, relationships, and quality of life, and she strives to make therapy both motivating and genuinely life-changing for every person she supports.

“I love helping people communicate with confidence and express themselves in ways that feel natural and meaningful. Seeing someone reconnect with the people, activities, and parts of life that matter most to them is the most rewarding part of my work.”
